About the role

Weave Robotics is hiring an Electrical Engineer focused on sensing to own sensor end-to-end for home robots, spanning analog design, signal processing, calibration, and production testing for time-series sensing in a multi-modal sensor suite.

Responsibilities

  • Own sensors end-to-end: architecture, electronics, sampling, signal processing, calibration, and production test for the robot's time-series sensing.
  • Design sensing electronics: analog front ends, emitter drive and detector receive chains, mixed-signal circuits, and multi-channel arrays with tight synchronization and timestamping.
  • Write the algorithms: filtering, bias and temperature compensation, drift handling, outlier rejection, and estimation layers including inverse models.
  • Characterize everything: fixtures and experiments mapping sensor behavior into usable models for algorithms.
  • Build calibration for production: per-unit calibration routines on manufacturing line and in field.
  • Detect sensor failure: health monitoring with confidence estimates.
  • Evaluate what's next: prototype new modalities and provide data-backed guidance on what to deploy

Qualifications

  • End-to-end sensor ownership: 3+ years spanning sensing hardware and signal processing, with at least one sensor carried from schematic through shipped, calibrated signal.
  • Mixed-signal competence: analog front-end design, signal conditioning, grounding/shielding, multi-channel layout.
  • Signal processing and estimation fundamentals: filtering, spectral analysis, state estimation, and inverse problems with physics literacy.
  • Experimental discipline: measurement design and error-bar-backed claims.
  • Modality range: experience with multiple sensing modalities or ability to learn new ones quickly.
  • Communication protocols: EtherCAT, CAN/CAN FD, SPI, and I²C.
