About the role

AI Automation and Integration Engineer embedded with Finance and Revenue Operations to redesign core finance processes around AI-powered agents, automation, and integrations. Discovery-led, hands-on engineering role responsible for identifying high-impact opportunities, determining build/buy/configure options, and owning design and implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Finance Process Discovery & Prioritization: Map Finance and Revenue Operations processes, systems, dependencies, and existing automation. Establish measurable baselines for current workflows. Rank automation opportunities based on impact, complexity, data availability, and risk. Prioritize the month-end close before expanding into additional finance workflows. Evaluate build, buy, and configure options, focusing custom AI development where it provides the greatest value.
  • Record to Report & Month-End Close: Build and improve workflows supporting close management and journal entry creation and validation. Support automation across revenue recognition, cost of sales, commission calculations, accruals, provisions, and prepayments. Develop workflows for balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations. Support variance analysis, VAT, and audit preparation. Develop early pilots around balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry validation, close calculations, and variance analysis with commentary.
  • Procure to Pay: Build workflows supporting invoice capture and validation. Automate 3-way matching, duplicate detection, vendor master validation, and GL coding. Support payment proposal checks and supplier email workflows. Improve incentive payment queries and reconciliation processes.
  • Order to Cash: Support contract-based billing checks and invoice validation. Build workflows for cash application, collections, disputes, credit, and DSO monitoring. Support customer email workflows with automatic action summaries.
  • Reporting, FP&A, Treasury & Expenses: Automate recurring board and management reporting. Support forecast variance analysis. Build workflows around cash position and cash flow forecasting. Support expense claim validation and policy checks.
  • AI Automation & Integration Engineering: Build AI agents, workflows, and integrations across ERP systems, planning tools, and data platforms. Develop reusable components for recurring finance patterns, including matching and reconciliation, rules-based calculations, anomaly and duplicate detection, validation, variance commentary, and inbox handling. Apply deterministic code to calculations and matching while using AI models for extraction, classification, exception triage, and commentary. Integrate APIs, ERPs, finance platforms, and data warehouses.
  • Controls, Auditability & Governance: Design approval workflows, role-based access, segregation of duties, exception handling, and audit trails into finance automation. Ensure workflows provide the evidence, reproducibility, and change control required for external audits. Support secure handling of financial and employee data. Maintain clear operational controls as automation expands.
  • Existing Automation & Implementation Partner Coordination: Take ownership of workflows delivered by an implementation partner. Support, monitor, document, and extend existing automated workflows. Coordinate in-flight implementation work to avoid duplication. Work with the implementation partner alongside Finance, Revenue Operations, Data, and Engineering teams.
  • Measurement & Documentation: Measure automation results against established finance KPIs. Track metrics such as days to close, percentage of reconciliations auto-prepared, cash application match rates, touchless invoice rates, DSO, and forecast accuracy. Document system architecture, controls, workflows, and operating procedures. Maintain a prioritized roadmap for future automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years shipping AI-powered workflows, agents, or integrations in production.
  • Experience completing an agent-first redesign of a real business workflow, from establishing the baseline through measuring the final result.
  • Experience integrating APIs, ERPs, finance platforms, and data warehouses.
  • Experience translating ambiguous processes from non-technical teams into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience working independently from directional guidance and influencing stakeholders without direct management authority.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must be bilingual (English & Spanish)
