About the role

Equipment Engineer to join the Operations team in Austin, TX, responsible for maintaining and improving equipment to minimize downtime, support installation, and develop preventive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex equipment and tools to minimize operational downtime.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of new equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) programs and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and maintainability.
  • Debug and resolve equipment issues using a structured, hands-on approach.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams to resolve equipment and process challenges.
  • Support equipment qualification and documentation activities within a quality system.
  • Establish maintenance procedures, schedules, and documentation for new and existing equipment.
  • Take ownership of urgent equipment issues and drive them through resolution.
  • Learn and support a broad range of equipment and technical disciplines as the organization grows.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of strong mechanical engineering and electrical system fundamentals with hands-on technical experience.
  • Experience debugging, building, maintaining, or repairing large, complex, or highly technical equipment or tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and identify root causes.
  • Strong cross-disciplinary curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and technical domains.
  • Bias toward action and a hands-on approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of equipment issues and drive them through resolution.
