About the role

Internship in GSM to own and optimize supplier ramp, sourcing readiness tooling, build cost baselines, supplier capacity views, and supporting QBRs, ending with a handoff after the term.

Responsibilities

  • Own the sourcing status tracker: maintain one record per part on current and next build bills of materials, including awarded supplier, quote status, NDA/MSA status, and ASL qualification status; refresh weekly.
  • Own the tooling and non-recurring engineering (NRE) tracker: track GSM-owned tooling and NRE purchase orders with kickoff, T1 sample, FAI, and payment milestone dates against need dates.
  • Own the build cost baseline and next-build cost targets: normalize quotes across suppliers, roll up by sub-assembly for the current build, and set targets by sub-assembly for the next build; baseline for cost reduction tracking.
  • Own the supplier capacity view: track committed supplier capacity against next-build forecast by part and source; flag where a supplier cannot meet demand before build kickoff; support onboarding of new vendors by collecting NDA, MSA, and quality documents for GSM review.
  • Pull supplier scorecard data for GSM-run quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and build quote analysis packages for negotiations.
  • At the end of the term, run the build kickoff readiness review from the toolset and document the handoff for seamless continuation by the team.

Qualifications

  • Rising senior or recent graduate in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field; graduating within one year.
  • Available full time for winter term, January–April 2027 (approximately 16 weeks).
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, lookups, pivots) and at least one of SQL or Python for data pulling/joining across systems.
  • Working knowledge of hardware supply chain basics: bills of materials, supplier quotes, purchase orders, and tooling.
  • Clear written communication; ability to document a process so someone else can run it.

  • US base pay range for this full-time position is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour.
