About the role

CNC Machinist for Materials Labs responsible for operating various machine shop equipment, machining metallic test specimens, inspection, and supporting lab/test activities with GD&T interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of machine shop equipment including CNC mill (horizontal and vertical spindle), CNC lathe, wire EDM, manual mill/lathe, waterjet, and other typical machine shop equipment
  • Support mechanical test lab with metallic test specimen machining for tensile and fracture toughness, as well as fixture machining/repair
  • Perform product inspection and rework as required
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings with an understanding for drawing symbols, flag notes, and general notes
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of production machinery

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of professional experience running CNC vertical milling centers, CNC turning centers or wire EDM
