About the role
Leader on the Product Security team responsible for embedding security into Harvey's engineering organization, shaping the product security roadmap, and leading engineers to build secure, scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Senior Director of Product Security to translate broad security strategy into focused team priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Hire, develop, and lead Product Security Engineers, establishing clear ownership and trusted partnerships with engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security to align security investments with business priorities and platform realities.
- Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery; provide technical direction on architecture reviews, threat modeling, and remediation.
- Scale impact through automation, developer tooling, and secure-by-default patterns; improve security standards and engineering practices based on team learnings.
- Communicate risks and progress to engineering leaders, align on priorities, and drive meaningful security improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience managing Product Security or Application Security engineers at a growing technology company
- A strong engineering background with deep expertise in modern application security and cloud-native architectures
- Track record of delivering security improvements through engineering, automation, and close partnership with development teams
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing security engineers, with a focus on technical growth and clear ownership
- Ability to translate broader security goals into focused team priorities and measurable results
- Sound technical judgment and ability to earn credibility with senior engineers and influence cross-functional partners
