About the role
Senior individual contributor responsible for owning and communicating the platform narrative for OpenGov's Public Service Platform, translating strategy into compelling content and ensuring consistency across GTM touchpoints for government buyers, field teams, and executives.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the platform narrative for the Public Service Platform, translating strategy into compelling content across every format: talk tracks, decks, video scripts, ad copy, onboarding material, and executive presentations
- Define what the field needs to believe and say about the platform above the product-line level: connecting ERP, Community Ops, and AI for government buyers
- Serve as the primary messaging counterpart to platform leadership: translate weekly builds into externally resonant content
- Own the narrative for OG Assist as OpenGov's strategic platform capability with clear, audience-specific landing
- Provide informed input on pricing and packaging decisions alongside platform leadership
- Make AI capabilities feel practical and specific to government buyers
- Advise on platform narrative consistency across major external moments (analyst briefings, executive keynotes, conferences)
- Ensure the platform story is consistent everywhere it shows up (seller pitches, PS/CS decks, onboarding, analyst briefings, press, customer stories)
- Set and uphold standards for on-narrative content; resolve conflicts before reaching the field
- Drive adoption of new capabilities with sellers, implementation teams, and customers; adoption is the metric
- Present and deliver directly when needed to be credible in front of AEs, CSMs, and executives
- Guide cross-functional partners on platform messaging without direct authority
- Write copy that field teams read, believe, and use; create human, non-automated narrative content
- Own work that cannot be automated: judgment calls and room reads
- Partner with growth marketers, comms, and product engineers to ensure launch moments land with the field
- Lead customer-facing content (stories, case studies, enablement materials) reflecting the platform story accurately
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product marketing, platform marketing, or a GTM-adjacent role at a B2B SaaS company
- Expert ability to write with clarity and precision for a buyer audience
- Deep understanding of how a SaaS business works (pipeline, AE/CSM/PS dynamics)
- Technical fluency to work with product engineers and translate tech into buyer value
- High agency and executive presence; can own a room and deliver live
- Demonstrated AI fluency in directing AI-assisted workflows and evaluating output quality
- Government technology or regulated industry experience preferred
