About the role

Data Science Lead to lead a small team and drive data-driven product and growth decisions. Hands-on role focused on setting the data roadmap, solving high-impact analytical problems, and building AI-native analytics within a product-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team and strengthen the data foundation: set priorities, develop the team through technical direction, own standards for metric definitions and data validation, turn recurring requests into reusable datasets and self-service tools.
  • Drive product and growth decisions: conduct behavioral analysis, user profiling, segmentation; inform product strategy, operations, and goals; strengthen experimentation and causal measurement across Product and Growth; evaluate acquisition quality and long-term value of channels.
  • Connect product data to AI improvement: partner with AI teams on data curation, evaluation design, and measurement; create feedback signals and failure cases to drive AI improvements.
  • Build AI-native analytics: use AI to automate recurring analysis; develop proactive insights workflows with validation and human judgment to support teams.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in data science, product analytics, decision science, or related field with Staff/Principal/Lead level scope or equivalent.
  • Strong product and business judgment; ability to translate evidence into decisions.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills; hands-on approach.
  • Deep experience with product metrics, user behavior, statistics, A/B testing, and causal reasoning.
  • Strong data-quality instincts and ability to trace data through a system; collaborate with engineers on durable fixes.
  • Ability to lead through influence, technical credibility, and clear communication across technical and business teams.

Benefits

  • Base compensation $230K – $300K plus equity and $40K – $100K bonus.
  • Compensation may vary by location, qualifications, and experience.
