About the role

Senior HEOR Scientist responsible for proving and improving real-world health and economic outcomes, translating real-world data into actionable insights, publishing findings, and shaping commercial strategy across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of real-world evidence (RWE) programs and health economics models to demonstrate Virta's clinical and economic value proposition.
  • Translate complex real-world data (RWD) from health plans, employers, and external data warehouses into actionable operational and health economic insights that drive commercial growth, market adoption, and product innovation.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present scientific evidence at national/international conferences, client presentations, and internal meetings.
  • Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to integrate real-world evidence into commercial messaging, clinical care, and product development.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert, teaching HEOR methodologies to colleagues and advancing organizational research capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent (PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacoeconomics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing claims/clinical datasets, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting economic outcomes of clinical programs.
  • 3+ years of business experience in a startup or high-growth environment, with proven ability to translate scientific evidence for commercial and marketplace applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for conducting advanced claims analysis and data modeling.
  • Successfully designed and implemented repeatable AI-enabled workflows that address team bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
