About the role

Lead and scale the Site Security Solutions Engineering team within Skydio's Commercial organization, owning team quota, technical sales motion, and people development to win and expand site security programs for a growing market segment.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, and retain a team of quota-carrying Site Security Solutions Engineers and a Site Security Solutions Specialist; own ramp, enablement, and career progression.
  • Scale the team ahead of segment growth: plan headcount against pipeline and coverage ratios, and build a security-fluent technical sales profile.
  • Own team performance against quota; conduct pipeline and deal reviews; coach on security-focused discovery, solution design, demos, and trial execution; uphold high technical win rate.
  • Manage territory and account alignment between SEs and Account Executives; balance workload as demand increases.
  • Define engagement with the Specialist: timing, briefing, and handoffs to ensure specialist time is spent on impactful deals.
  • Develop people with clear career paths, promotions, and succession within the team.
  • Forecast, strategy, and pipeline health: partner with security sales leadership; own technical forecast and call risk early.
  • Engage personally on strategic pursuits and establish repeatable technical sales motion for priority sub-segments (data centers, departments of corrections, military installations).
  • Drive expansion by ensuring trials convert and deployments scale into multi-site/fleet-wide programs with Deployment Engineering and Launch Team.
  • Support executive briefings, customer summits, and category-defining content with Marketing and Product.
  • Build and maintain Skydio's security technical playbook and standards for site assessments, RF/site-readiness, dock siting, and installation scoping.
  • Equip the team to handle integration conversations with VMS, access control, and third-party AI/CV platforms; guide enterprise security reviews and on-prem deployment requirements.
  • Create scalable technical assets (reference architectures, demos, scripts, playbooks) to shorten ramp time for new SEs.
  • Translate field requirements into PRDs and product input focused on AI/ computer vision capability gaps; aggregate feedback to Product.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Solutions Specialist, or equivalent in physical security, video surveillance, or critical infrastructure protection.
  • Direct domain experience in corporate security, GSOC operations, law enforcement, corrections, or military base security preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of physical security tech stack (VMS, access control, PACS, perimeter IDS, video analytics).
  • Ability to discuss AI and computer vision capabilities honestly in a security context.
  • Experience with UAS deployments, site planning, networking, and RF considerations.
  • Comfort with enterprise security review processes (InfoSec questionnaires, cyber/pen testing, on-prem deployment constraints).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to executives and facilities engineers.
  • Demonstrated people leadership (hiring, coaching, performance management) and ability to operate in a fast-moving segment.
  • Willingness to do whatever is needed to resolve customer situations.
