About the role

Meta seeks an experienced IT professional to lead and own the performance, health, and production readiness of compute, storage, and accelerator (GPU) platforms in Meta’s data centers. The role focuses on end-to-end ownership from NPI testing through end-of-life decommissioning, proactive fleet health analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for compute, storage, and accelerator (GPU) platforms in Meta's production data centers, diagnosing issues for data center operations teams and escalating to hardware design and NPI teams as needed
  • Provide end-to-end lifecycle ownership (operational test through end-of-life decommissioning) of hardware platforms and new technologies
  • Drive complex technical investigations across Hardware, Software/Firmware, Networking and Power & Cooling
  • Analyze health of the global server fleet to proactively identify systemic issues and mitigate impact
  • Collaborate with HW Engineering, Release-to-Production, and Systems Integration teams to mass-produce new servers and storage platforms in data centers
  • Identify risks early in new hardware programs and contribute test methods to meet end-customer needs
  • Act as product leader for specific server/storage platforms in mass production
  • Perform and drive RCA and CA with hardware and software teams
  • Issue timely alerts and fixes to operations and provide robust feedback to engineering
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and solicit feedback to improve operational effectiveness as infrastructure scales
  • Provide serviceability feedback to production hardware for more efficient repairs
  • Travel up to 30% required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • BS or BA in electrical, mechanical, computer, or equivalent hardware engineering related field
  • 7+ years of experience with server hardware systems in internet operations or related design/test validation environment
  • Experience triaging and debugging hardware platforms
  • Familiarity or experience in NPI server platform development
  • Familiarity with Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Experience training and mentoring technicians/engineers
  • Proven ability to create documentation for users at all levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across organizational levels
  • Experience building relationships with customers and vendors
  • Experience leveraging large data sets to inform hardware decisions and improve operations
