About the role

DCIM Engineer responsible for leading complex DCIM projects, providing engineering support to field operations, and ensuring effective performance, load management, and data-driven optimization across Meta’s data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technically complex DCIM engineering projects for the facilities infrastructure operations team with cross-functional collaboration
  • Engineering point of escalation for DCIM system issues in data centers
  • Troubleshoot and engineer enhancements and corrective actions for designs and implementation processes/methods
  • Conduct detailed analyses and audits of DCIM system utilization
  • Develop measurements and reports from Building Management System (BMS) and other monitoring systems to optimize performance and reliability
  • Evaluate systems for load management and capacity planning; monitor, trend, and develop engineering metrics for strategic planning
  • Review new and retrofit DCIM designs, commissioning plans, and critical operational procedures
  • Review DCIM "as-built" documentation and verify accuracy; investigate site conditions and update records
  • Develop and generate specifications, RFPs, ROMs, and SOWs for projects
  • Evaluate facility processes and best practices to drive efficiencies
  • Routinely report and present to peers, partners, and leadership
  • Travel up to 30% to data center and vendor sites for engineering studies, on-site technical support, DCIM system audits, startup testing, and full commissioning

Qualifications

  • 4+ years professional experience in data center engineering, mission critical design, construction, operations, maintenance or related industry
  • 10+ years of professional Data Center Infrastructure Management engineer work experience; alternative pathway includes BS in Computer Science (or related) or Associates in Engineering plus 6+ years in discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in two or more: (1) Electrical Power Monitoring System implementation and support, (2) DCIM evaluation/implementation/support, (3) Building Management System implementation and support
  • Ability to research, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Experience clearly communicating technical issues
  • Experience delivering presentations, managing projects, and producing technical reports for stakeholders
  • Experience with computer-based mathematical analysis and data analysis
  • Experience driving complex projects under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
