About the role

Security Engineer role focusing on nation-state level threats, building detection/response automation, and leading cross-team initiatives to strengthen incident detection and response across Meta systems.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and prioritize areas of risk across the company
  • Lead major cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams to mitigate this risk
  • Apply domain expertise and an attacker’s mindset to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening incident detection and response capabilities for complex threats
  • Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets across endpoints, mobile, servers, internal services, cloud environments, and networking equipment
  • Review security architecture of large-scale systems and propose logging, detection, and prevention controls
  • Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen standards and governance
  • Build response workflows and actions that auto-resolve false positives and scale investigation
  • Influence asset-owning teams to adopt appropriate access control designs and operational processes
  • Support security incident response in a cross-functional environment and drive incident resolution
  • Build logging pipelines using custom datasets and infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Understanding of how to manage security risks in a fast-moving environment
  • 10+ years of experience in offensive or defensive cyber operations, detection and response engineering, or a similar security engineering role
  • Experience in communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions
  • Experience delivering executive-level security strategies
  • Engineering experience and the capacity to understand and reason about complex technical systems
  • Experience designing systems used for responding to both external and insider threats
  • B.S. in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience
