About the role

Lead delivery outcomes and capital risk for a single gigawatt-scale data center campus, coordinating DEC matrix teams and managing a multi-prime execution model for a 1GW+ mega cluster.

Responsibilities

  • Role model and reinforce a high-performing, safety-focused culture across all internal and external teams on the campus; respect and reinforce the Global Safety Manager's independent stop-work authority
  • Own delivery outcomes and capital risk for a single gigawatt campus — safety, schedule, cost, quality, and provision readiness — from capital commitment through turnover
  • Carry decision authority and fiduciary accountability at the capex focal point. Make irreversible structural, commercial, and sequencing decisions early in the build
  • Lead matrix teams — Delivery, Quality, Project Controls, and Design — integrating them into one accountable outcome
  • Own the multi-prime execution structure at the project level: integrator relationship, prime contractor interfaces, scope-gap management, and commercial interfaces across prime scopes
  • Direct the campus's contracted execution model in partnership with Operations Director's vendor governance
  • Negotiate and approve construction change orders with contractors and vendors at campus scale; escalate complex issues
  • Identify and mitigate risk ahead of the critical path, focusing on early civil window and related activities
  • Apply the product-line delivery method of record supplied by Product Leads to site conditions and sequencing
  • Take handoff from Site Development, Real Estate, and Energy and own construction delivery onward
  • Lead, manage, and develop the project team; coach and build capability of campus Construction Managers and matrixed staff
  • Manage senior relationship with campus general contractor and trade partner leadership at the corporate level
  • Communicate campus risk and status to VP and executive leadership with proactive mitigation
  • Interface across precon and planning, contracting, legal, business controls, engineering, design, and facility operations leadership
  • Travel to the campus, team meetings, and vendor locations; substantial on-site presence during active build

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent technical degree
  • 20+ years of megaproject experience with principal or technical-executive accountability on programs of comparable scale
  • Demonstrated ownership of capital risk on a megaproject
  • Experience with multi-prime delivery structures, integrator models, and commercial interfaces
  • Ground-up campus-scale construction delivered on fast-track, integrated schedules
  • Experience with design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with US/EMEA construction contract delivery methods and negotiating change orders
  • Experience with local, state, and national codes, permitting authorities, and safety requirements
  • Experience managing contractor, subcontractor, and vendor relationships
  • Experience in Primavera P6, MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
