About the role

Senior Video Editor responsible for editing and color-correcting Newsroom podcasts and clips for shows, delivering vertical and horizontal video content for mobile, social, and digital audiences. Reports to the Post Production Supervisor and works in-office in New York with hybrid/remote considerations per department guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and color-correct Newsroom podcasts across the show portfolio, delivering content in both short-form vertical and long-form horizontal format
  • Deliver top-notch product under intense deadline pressure, and without the need for direct supervision, continuous editorial guidance, or task management
  • Bring a digital first mindset to editing on-platform and for social media
  • Edit creatively both for full-length videos and video clips, and in coordination with an audio edit
  • Assist in defining style and techniques that give our videos a voice and make them stand out from the pack
  • Collaborate on optimizing a post production and archival workflow
  • Perform related work as assigned
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and mission

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of multimedia storytelling, video editing and production experience at a major video outlet or production company
  • Strong digital video editing background
  • Must have a strong portfolio of digital work
  • Experience creating original videos that incorporate audio, video, still images, graphics and text
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere and CS
