About the role

Data Engineer on the Data Science & Analytics team at Anthropic, building scalable analytics solutions, pipelines, dashboards, and self-serve data products to enable data-driven decision making across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and proactively identify data needs of stakeholder teams and translate into technical requirements
  • Define, build and manage data pipelines in dbt that transform raw logs into canonical datasets
  • Establish high data integrity standards and SLAs for timely, accurate data delivery
  • Develop insightful dashboards to track core metrics for the company
  • Build foundational data products, dashboards and tools to enable self-serve analytics across the company
  • Partner with stakeholders to define and materialize metrics and analyses for new/evolving consumer products in a fast-paced environment
  • Influence the future roadmap of Product teams from a data systems perspective
  • Become an expert in the organization’s data models and data architecture

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar Data Science & Analytics role
  • Experience building multi-step ETL jobs with dbt; proficiency with Airflow and GitHub for workflow and version control
  • Expertise in SQL and Python for data transformation and modeling
  • Experience building data reporting and dashboards in visualization tools (e.g., Hex) for cross-functional teams
  • Bias for action and urgency; ability to work end-to-end in a full-stack mindset
  • Experience building a Data Engineering function at startups
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive forward progress
  • Experience scaling productivity using AI while maintaining deliverable quality
