About the role

Staff+ backend/infrastructure engineer focused on developer experience, building internal tools to help Anthropic product engineers ship Claude-related capabilities faster. Owns technical strategy, builds tooling to improve CI/CD and lifecycle trust, and embeds with partner teams to reduce friction across the Claude Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate the tools that help product teams ship faster
  • Own the technical strategy and roadmap for your area, and ensure hardest problems get solved
  • Define what it means to trust a change, especially changes written by Claude, and build tooling that holds the bar throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Build agents that diagnose failures, fix broken tests, and run migrations
  • Embed with partner teams to identify friction, validate solutions, and turn fixes into reusable products
  • Move between building new tools and improving shared systems as priorities shift

Qualifications

  • Experience building and operating backend services or infrastructure in production, in Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript
  • Deep experience with developer tooling, CI/CD, test infrastructure, or deployment systems
  • Experience leading large, complex technical projects across teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with experience supporting internal partner teams
  • Interest in Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI
