About the role

Hands-on technical execution role owning the Legal Department’s technology ecosystem, driving system administration, automation, and process improvements across Jira, CLM, e-signature, matter management, document management, e-billing, and AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate into the Legal Department's intake and support queue in Jira - triaging tickets, setting expectations, resolving requests, and escalating what needs a lawyer's judgment to gain first-hand knowledge of workflows
  • Serve as frontline administrator and first responder for legal systems (CLM, e-signature, matter management, document management, e-billing, AI tooling) - access, permissions, templates, configuration, break/fix
  • Monitor existing automations and integrations for failures, diagnose root causes, and fix them
  • Execute recurring operational work: user provisioning/offboarding, template updates, approval routing changes, access reviews, system hygiene checks
  • Maintain data integrity and quality across contract and matter management systems - metadata standards, field hygiene, bulk updates, deduplication, cleanup ahead of reporting cycles
  • Produce and refresh recurring reporting and dashboards on cycle times, request volume, contract throughput, and outside counsel spend
  • Make incremental improvements to workflows to reduce manual steps, tighten validation, add conditional logic, and eliminate failure modes in queues
  • Build automations and integrations using no-code/low-code platforms, APIs, and scripting
  • Track recurring pain points from the ticket queue and propose fixes with rough effort estimates
  • Assist with data migrations and configuration changes during larger Legal Ops initiatives
  • Support AI tooling in the department - prompt/template maintenance, output quality spot-checks, and honest reporting on limitations
  • Drive tool adoption through training and enablement materials; design new workflows and lightweight applications from ambiguous requirements; translate legal/operational needs into technical solutions
  • Take a lead technical role in new system implementations and vendor evaluations; collaborate with IT, Security, Procurement, and Finance on integrations, onboarding, and export control requirements
  • Shape the technical direction of the Legal Department's tooling as it expands

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in legal operations, legal technology, systems administration, technical support, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience administering or supporting at least one business system (CLM, matter management, e-billing, document management, e-signature, CRM)
  • Demonstrated ability to build automations in no-code/low-code, write scripts/queries, or work with APIs and explain a concrete solved problem
  • Experience handling an operational queue with volume and shifting priorities and closing tickets
  • Proficiency with Airtable, Slack, DocuSign, Jira, Salesforce, Oracle ERP, Foundry or similar; ability to learn new platforms quickly
  • Working understanding of contracts and legal workflows (redlines, signature blocks, approval thresholds, retention obligations)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain constraints to lawyers and requirements to engineers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; understanding of data quality importance in legal systems
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally (IT, Security, Real Estate, Procurement, Finance, Growth)
  • Solutions-oriented with bias toward automation, process optimization, and scalable systems
  • Quick learner, independent, capable of autonomous contribution and impact
  • Willing to wear multiple hats and handle projects big and small
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with good judgment
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information
