About the role

The Stateful Systems team owns the data layer (time-series and storage) for Anduril’s Lattice OS autonomous systems. The role focuses on rebuilding core storage and time-series infrastructure to scale, ensure high availability, and maintain correctness in challenging distributed environments.

Responsibilities

  • Time-Series: redesigning the time-series engine to scale horizontally across many writers and nodes, supporting 350+ sensor towers and tens of thousands of camera feeds with live and historical queries.
  • Distributed storage. High-availability durability (WAL replication, leader election), a pluggable storage-engine layer, and a zero-downtime path to migrate between backends.
  • Correctness under partition: ensure consistency and convergence when networks are unreliable.
  • Hard distributed-systems problems: consistency models, replication protocols, data lifecycle operations like compaction and deletion, back pressure, and durability guarantees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, focused on distributed systems or robotics
  • Deep experience with Python, Go, C++, or Rust (or similar systems programming languages)
  • Solid distributed-systems fundamentals: replication, consistency, partition behavior, and failure modes
  • Production experience building or operating storage engines, databases, or large-scale data infrastructure
  • Comfort in a systems language; depth matters more than language
  • Bias toward shipping and owning work; ability to operate in a small team environment
