About the role

We are building next-generation products for real-time fetal ultrasound assistance, focusing on integration with healthcare systems and ultrasound machines, real-time data streaming, AI/ML interpretation, and reactive web apps. The role emphasizes systems engineering, reliability, and handling increased data volume, with a focus on connecting Sonio to outside world (EHR integration and ultrasound machine interconnection).

Responsibilities

  • Scaling data ingestion systems
  • Refactoring how we ingest DICOM data into the system
  • Work on how Sonio connects with the outside world: integration with healthcare information systems (EHR) and interconnection with ultrasound machines
  • Build reliable systems to handle high-volume data in short timeframes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver near real-time solutions for practitioners during fetal ultrasound examinations

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of software engineering experience, with strong system design skills
  • Experience with a data ingestion system fed by machines (industrial, IoT, or similar distributed machines)
  • Exposure to languages: Python/Ruby/Go/Javascript/Rust/Elixir/Java/C/C++ (or similar) with ability to pick up others
  • Customer-oriented and user-centric, comfortable with clients and on-site visits in the US from time to time
  • Fluent in English; English is the working language
  • Start-up or scale-up experience is a big plus
