About the role

Beam is an ultrafast AI inference platform building a serverless runtime that launches GPU-backed containers in under 1 second. The company is YC-backed and focuses on developer tools for AI workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Building and shipping features across our Python SDK, CLI, API, and web dashboard
  • Designing a first-class experience for agents and humans
  • Making the path from sign-up to first deployed workload fast and painless
  • Turning low-level capabilities into simple, intuitive product surfaces (e.g., mountable NVME drives, GPU checkpoint/restore, lazy-loaded images, multi-cloud scheduling)
  • Working directly with customers to understand how they use Beam and how to spark joy for them
  • Improving usage, billing, and observability so developers always know what’s running and what it costs

Qualifications

  • You’ve built and shipped a product end-to-end (big plus if it involved developer tools)
  • Experience with a statically typed language like Go, TypeScript, or Rust (preferred)
  • Comfort with distributed systems and cloud-native tooling like Kubernetes, gRPC, and Terraform
  • Strong product sense: you notice friction and fix it
  • Excited to collaborate closely with customers
  • Enthusiasm for developer tools and cloud-native technologies
