About the role
Leads the IT Asset Management function at Capital.com, delivering against the strategy set by the VP of IT Operations. Owns the IT asset register and associated automation/data services, acting as the trusted source of data on assets and spend. Manages a small multidisciplinary team and partners with Vendor Management, Security, Finance, and IT Operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the IT Asset Management function and deliver it against the strategy and priorities set by the VP of IT Operations.
- Deliver data and services to other functions by capturing their needs and building/running services to meet them.
- Own the IT asset register across Software and SaaS, on‑premise solutions, the development stack and hardware, keeping it complete, accurate and trusted.
- Operate one trusted source of data on assets and spend, and build the Asset Management automation on top of it.
- Keep asset data controls lightweight and non-duplicated to drive trusted data-based decisions.
- Lead asset-driven budgeting and regular reporting, and provide data services to Finance.
- Partner with Vendor Management to optimize procurement and with Security to detect/reduce Shadow IT.
- Direct integration with Atlassian services (Jira, Confluence, Jira Assets and JSM) and the asset data platform.
- Lead integration of purchased solutions to standard, support through change, and clean offboarding (data archival/migration, access removal, service-account disposal, documentation).
- Line-manage and develop the team, setting direction, priorities and quality bars.
Qualifications
- Proven experience building process systems and keeping them lightweight in a regulated environment.
- Track record of delivering against a strategy/roadmap with independent judgment.
- Deep experience with large data sets and understanding why each item is collected.
- Experience delivering data services that other departments actually use.
- Strong understanding of a service model (building services for others while running its own operations).
- Experience building and operating data warehouses for applied use.
- Experience in hybrid infrastructure (on-premise plus cloud).
- Excellent stakeholder skills for negotiating with business and engineering teams.
