About the role

Director-level leadership role responsible for Attentive’s cloud infrastructure, centralized data platforms, and database infrastructure. Owns technical direction, operational health, and the development of engineers and managers to accelerate product delivery with reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set a clear technical strategy and roadmap across multiple teams, connecting infrastructure investments to product delivery, reliability, and business priorities.
  • Raise the bar for technical quality, execution, and ownership. Define what strong performance looks like, hold teams accountable for results, and build a culture where engineers identify and solve problems proactively.
  • Hire, coach, and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders; assess talent, address performance gaps, and create growth opportunities.
  • Build an organization that consistently delivers with focused priorities, clear commitments, and effective operating practices.
  • Partner with Developer Experience teams to make infrastructure easy to provision, configure, and test through reusable components, clear interfaces, and self-service workflows.
  • Enable engineers and AI agents to create reproducible environments, test changes against realistic dependencies, and obtain fast feedback within access and cost controls.
  • Raise operational standards across observability, incident response, service objectives, disaster recovery, and safe change management.
  • Lead complex infrastructure and database migrations with practical rollout plans, validation, and recovery paths.
  • Make AWS and data platform costs visible and actionable; improve efficiency through architecture, capacity planning, and vendor management.
  • Stay close to technical details, challenge unnecessary complexity, guide design decisions, and help teams resolve production problems.
  • Measure progress through outcomes (faster environment setup, shorter feedback cycles, fewer manual interventions, stronger reliability, better infrastructure economics).

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a high-performing engineering organization with strong managers, clear accountability, deep technical judgment, and consistent delivery.
  • Proven ability to guide major architecture decisions and partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Finance, Developer Experience).
  • Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS), data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and database infrastructure, with focus on reliability, performance, governance, and cost efficiency.
