About the role

MongoDB Technical Services Engineers provide technical expertise, problem solving, and customer service to help customers build and operate reliable MongoDB applications and deployments, working with MongoDB server, drivers, Atlas, Cloud Manager, Compass, and related services.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to understand complex technical challenges, identify root causes, and provide practical solutions for large-scale, data-intensive environments
  • Be an expert resource on best practices in running MongoDB at scale
  • Advocate for customers' needs by interfacing with product management and development teams
  • Contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics

Qualifications

  • Strong technical experience in one or more: systems administration, distributed systems, network administration, database architecture and administration, application architecture, data architecture and design, performance tuning and benchmarking
  • Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl is a plus
  • Operations background with experience administering large-scale production environments (hardware, OS, networks, cloud resources) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Genuine desire to help people
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to think on your feet under pressure and learn new technical skills quickly
  • Strong teamwork and judgment to know when to seek help
