About the role

Technical Services Engineers advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems across the full ecosystem (server, drivers, cloud, infrastructure, Atlas, Cloud Manager). They combine MongoDB expertise with problem solving, teamwork, and customer focus to help customers succeed with MongoDB.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex MongoDB problems for customers, including architecture, performance, recovery, and security questions.
  • Be an expert resource on best practices for running MongoDB at scale.
  • Advocate for customers’ needs by interfacing with product management and development teams.
  • Contribute to internal projects, including development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical experience in: Systems administration; Distributed systems; Network Administration; Database architecture and administration; Application Architecture; Data architecture and design; Performance tuning and benchmarking.
  • Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, PHP, or Perl is a plus.
  • Operations background with experience administering large-scale production environments (hardware, OS like Linux/Windows, networks including firewalls and load balancers, cloud resources AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); genuine desire to help people; strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills; calm under pressure; rapid learner; strong teamwork.
