About the role
Product Manager responsible for Venice's model portfolio across all products, owning models-as-a-product, portfolio strategy, reliability, and lifecycle management. Acts as single owner of the model lineup, coordinating with engineering, marketing, and leadership to ensure a robust, privacy-first, uncensored model offering.
Responsibilities
- Own the model portfolio, end to end. Decide which models live on the platform and define tiering across free, Pro, Pro Plus, Max, maintaining the offerings matrix by product line (Chat, API, Studio).
- Build the models-as-product operating system. Establish launch processes including pre-release testing, configuration review, documentation, and launch communication. Define config standards, uptime SLAs, deprecation policies, and runbooks. Ensure model metadata and discovery are accessible and consistent.
- Drive reliability. Define health standards for every model tier, monitor uptime and fallback performance, triage incidents, lead post-mortems, ensure load-bearing models have provider redundancy, and instrument relevant dashboards.
- Identify and scope new product offerings. Own models-as-a-product beyond the existing catalog, spotting opportunities to build or offer new model products, and turning opportunities into scoped bets from concept to launch.
- Be the expert on all our models. Continuously monitor catalog against provider offerings, flag drift, recommend changes, drive decisions, and ensure changes ship.
- Own model strategy for each product. Map models to use cases across Venice products, recommend default models and appropriate fits for workflows and user segments in collaboration with product PMs.
- Turn signals into roadmap. Convert evaluation results, usage patterns, and customer feedback into prioritization, benchmarking models for uncensored, privacy-first standards before shipping.
- Work across the org, not in a silo. Collaborate with Engineering, API, BI, Product Management, and Marketing, making strategic calls and ensuring correct implementation.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in product management, ideally across infrastructure, dev tools, or AI/ML platforms.
- Technical fluency: triage model and configuration issues, understand model performance metrics, and diagnose root causes.
- Unit economics mindset: reason about COGS and margin per inference, make cost/speed trade-offs with incomplete data, defend prioritization decisions.
- Experience in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with weekly model releases.
- Comfort with tooling: APIs, inference systems, observability data, evaluation tooling, and cross-functional launch processes. Bonus: experience with model configurations or AI infrastructure.
- Alignment with mission: understanding uncensored model testing and privacy-first positioning and their operational implications.
