About the role

Senior data leader focusing on end-to-end data stewardship, analytics, and strategic business insights within a privacy-first consumer AI company. Reports to the VP of Business Operations and collaborates with product, engineering, finance, marketing, and leadership to back major decisions with rigorous, honest analysis while upholding privacy constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data, end to end. Decide where data lives, how it flows, and how it’s queried. Build the infrastructure, tooling, and dashboards that establish the ground truth.
  • Consolidate data access. Build a shared data lake with specialized views to ensure consistent data across finance, product metrics, and growth analysis.
  • Support experiment tracking. Help track experiments and build systems so Product can monitor tests without managing spreadsheets.
  • Ask and answer strategic questions about the business and products. Be honest about uncertainty, derive insights from limited data, and communicate confidence levels.
  • Build the analytical foundation. Assess existing data warehouse and analytics tooling, identify gaps, and build dashboards, self-serve tools, data models, and reporting pipelines.
  • Partner across the organization. Work with engineering, finance, marketing, and executives to guide roadmaps and instrument products thoughtfully.
  • Protect the privacy line. Advocate for data collection that minimizes privacy impact and find analytical methods that do not rely on invasive tracking.
  • Separate signal from noise in a fast-moving product. Build robust metrics that stay relevant as products evolve.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of demonstrated data leadership experience with a product mindset.
  • Proficient in SQL; capable of building data pipelines, models, and tooling; production-quality code.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and modern analytics stacks.
  • Familiarity with Rust, TypeScript, Go, and Python; multi-language proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience with PostHog for product analytics and Postgres for storage/querying.
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives and articulating uncertainty and confidence.
  • Understanding and alignment with privacy-first data collection principles.
