About the role

Backend/full-stack software engineer role on the Analytics Products team within Airbnb's Analytics Infrastructure, building data tools for practitioners and contributing to Apache Superset and related data platform integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Build new features to support user workflows within data products (Superset, AI for Data Chat, Notebooks) and integrations within the Data Platform ecosystem
  • Collaborate with the Apache Superset open source community and contribute to the project
  • Prepare, test and release Superset OSS official releases internally for Airbnb
  • Collaborate with teams within Airbnb’s data platform on tool integrations within the data platform’s infrastructure
  • Engage with users to drive projects end-to-end, gather feedback, collaborate with product managers, and manage feature rollouts and migrations
  • Maintain high technical quality by identifying architecture improvements, enhancing testability, observability, and reviewing others’ code and designs
  • Support the team’s operations via lightweight on-call support

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-time, relevant industry experience, with expertise in building backend services in Python
  • Frontend development experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with data (SQL, Data Engineering) or big data technologies such as Airflow, Spark, Trino, etc. is a plus
  • Experience in internal application development, data infrastructure, and analytics engineering is a plus
  • Appetite for high quality code, robust systems, observability and reliability
  • Ability to drive cross-functional projects or migrations with partner teams and users
  • Passion for building interactive and delightful user experiences and engaging with users
