About the role

Autumn is building a new search index focused on people. The Search Lead designs, builds, and optimizes Autumn's search engine, including schemas, ingestion, storage, indexing, identity resolution, freshness, and co-optimization with Harness.

Responsibilities

  • Design the schemas, ingestion, storage, and indexing systems to turn fragmented public information into useful, searchable entities (with edges/relationships between nodes).
  • Implement identity resolution and freshness to connect records about the same person or company and handle duplicates.
  • Own index updates, query execution, serving APIs, and production observability; optimize latency, cost, relevance, and coverage.
  • Co-optimize with the Harness Lead to identify regressions/gaps and improve retrieval and tool usage at the relevant layer.

Qualifications

  • Real experience in building large search systems (the bigger, the better).
  • Deep infra and databases knowledge.
  • Comfortable owning the roadmap for the index: architectural decisions and timely implementation.
