About the role

Technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining user documentation for Anduril’s interior aircraft product lines, ensuring compliance with standards such as S1000D and MIL-STD-40051, and partnering with engineering, operations, and account teams to deliver accurate, on-time manuals and related artifacts.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and maintain IPD, WDM and ICA documents for aircraft interior products.
  • Develop illustrations and technical graphics to support documentation.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, Bills of Material (BOM), and change orders to extract and organize component data.
  • Convert complex 3D CAD models or 2D engineering sketches into 2D line art, exploded views, and schematics.
  • Ensure proper sequencing of assemblies, list line-replaceable units, and update suitable interchangeable or substitute part numbers.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to verify the accuracy of the parts data
  • Author and maintain manuals in compliance with S1000D.
  • Generate, review, and edit documentation that is user-focused. Work with engineering and operations to deliver task, conditions, standard-centric documentation
  • Evaluate and prioritize tasks required to successfully support product documentation efforts and keep them on track.
  • Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Communicate and help manage expectations. Ensure risks are noted with adequate time, and shared with leadership.
  • Help build a culture of technical documentation by contributing to the living documentation process.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated excellence generating IPD technical documentation
  • Experience writing technical user-facing documentation
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation
  • Experience building content in a variety of formats (3D CAD: PTC Iso Draw SolidWorks or AutoCAD, Etc.)
  • Must be eligible for Secret and higher security clearance (US)
