About the role

Lead mechanical analysis for a maritime autonomous vehicle, owning structural and thermal analyses for pressure, fatigue, and environmental loading across the full design envelope within Anduril's Maritime Division.

Responsibilities

  • Own structural mechanical and thermal analysis for the vehicle
  • Perform structural analysis: FEA, hand calculations and buckling
  • Verify structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systems
  • Drive trade studies balancing strength, weight, corrosion, and cost
  • Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns
  • Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentation
  • Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems
  • Proficiency with analysis tools (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, etc)
  • Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
