About the role

QA Team Lead for VMS within Ajax Systems, combining team leadership and deep technical product work across hardware, firmware, backend/cloud, and client applications.

Responsibilities

  • Organize QA team work, plan tasks, set priorities and monitor execution
  • Mentor QA engineers, assess team performance and build development plans
  • Collaborate with developers, PMs and adjacent teams
  • Set up and optimize QA processes for high release tempo
  • Implement quality metrics and use them to drive decisions
  • Improve testing quality and help the team identify systemic issues in processes and product
  • Work with product spanning hardware, firmware, backend/cloud and client applications (Linux, networking protocols TCP/IP UDP HTTP/HTTPS, video streaming RTSP WebRTC ONVIF, logs/monitoring systems such as uart journalctl Kibana Grafana), Python/Bash for scripts and automation
  • Investigate and localize complex problems by analyzing logs, network interactions and system behavior using Linux CLI and diagnostic utilities
  • Conduct technical problem analysis and root cause analysis at hardware/firmware/cloud boundary, coordinating with developers for resolution
  • Study real-world product use cases and user feedback to improve quality
  • Collaborate with SDET engineers to develop automated coverage
  • Use scripts and automation tools for testing, diagnostics and problem investigation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years as QA Team Lead or Senior QA Engineer with team leadership, mentoring and task distribution
  • Strong QA foundation and hands-on experience testing complex products
  • Deep technical understanding of how complex systems work and ability to investigate components independently
  • Experience analyzing logs, component interactions and root cause analysis of technical issues
  • Ability to quickly understand a new product and its architecture
  • Ability to organize team work, meet deadlines and make decisions
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to speak up about issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams
