About the role

Research Leader (Toxicology) responsible for owning the safety assessment strategy of drug discovery projects, guiding AI-enabled toxicology platforms, and driving regulatory-ready safety documentation within Isomorphic Labs.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor and implement project-specific safety assessment strategies with an AI-first approach for small molecules and biologics
  • Design screening cascades and mechanistic experiments to elucidate and mitigate safety risks for data-driven project progression
  • Provide technical expertise to develop SAR understanding of toxicology liabilities to enable optimization of chemical and biological matter
  • Define regulatory safety assessment packages to support regulatory acceptance
  • Communicate integrated risk assessments and recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Author and defend toxicology sections of regulatory documents
  • Maintain and develop close relationships with CRO partners to ensure high-quality data generation and leverage external expertise
  • Oversee data-generation campaigns designed to support AI-based toxicology model development
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering inclusion and professional growth

Qualifications

  • PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biology, or related technical field, or equivalent industrial experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a senior toxicology role within biotech or pharma
  • Proven track record delivering non-clinical safety strategies across multiple therapy areas
  • Experience designing, implementing and filing IND packages for small molecules and biologics
  • Deep understanding of Global Regulatory Guidelines for safety assessment
  • Experience partnering with Discovery and Clinical teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills in cross-functional settings
  • Creative problem solving with a growth mindset, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new concepts
