About the role

Welding technical trainer to develop, implement, and run a training program qualifying welders for flight-critical structural and pipe welds on Starship and Super Heavy launch infrastructure, collaborating with welding, engineering, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials in accordance with industry standards
  • Teach GTAW, GMAW using STT, and FCAW-G techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance to students at various skill levels for structural and pipe welding
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and supervise students during practical lab work to ensure safe and effective learning
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through practical tests, projects, and written exams
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in welding technology and integrate them into the curriculum
  • Establish strong relationships with local and nationwide schools and vocational programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance program quality and student success
  • Advise and mentor students during their academic instruction and welding careers at SpaceX
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other continuing education activities
  • Travel to schools, job fairs, or hiring events – both local and nationwide

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of professional welding experience on both pipe and structure using FCAW, GTAW, or GMAW
