About the role

Global role based in Hawthorne, CA focusing on indirect supplier management for software services and SG&A spend reduction initiatives within SpaceX procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Identify and execute projects to completion including planning, coordinating with stakeholders, and communicating project updates.
  • Risk Management: Analyze global supply chain dynamics and market volatility impacting logistics providers; develop procurement strategies like multi-sourcing, diversification, and performance-based clauses to balance cost and risk.
  • Contract Management: Assist in authoring contract documents with Legal; manage contracts ensuring supplier performance to obligations; interpret contract terms in business context.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate to maximize value and cost savings while lowering risk.
  • Supplier Management: Manage preferred supplier relationships for assigned category; develop improvement plans with suppliers; collaborate with Logistics on supplier selection; create and implement programs to develop, improve, manage, and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build partnerships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Logistics, Finance) using data-driven insights to align on spend initiatives.
  • Analysis: Perform advanced quantitative analysis of financial impacts and performance; define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers; conduct benchmarking and market research.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience in Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, Material cost control, or Master production scheduling; or bachelor’s degree and 6+ years; or 10+ years of experience in one or more of these areas.
