About the role

Avionics Integration and Test Engineers are responsible for acceptance and qualification tests of satellite electrical systems and for Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) operations to screen flight hardware before launch, ensuring Starshield satellites function correctly in space.

Responsibilities

  • Own flight hardware through highly accelerated thermal screening procedures and serve as primary contact for any associated issues or stoppages
  • Evaluate non-conforming electrical hardware to determine root cause failure modes and propose design improvements
  • Troubleshoot test software and modify the codebase to adjust test bounds, implement fixes, and incorporate updates as needed
  • Collaborate with mechanical/electrical design, quality, and production teams to solve high-complexity testing challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase throughput and reduce cost to meet targets
  • Write automation software in Python to interact with flight hardware, test equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or physics
  • 1+ years of design and/or hands-on manufacturing experience (internships, collegiate engineering projects such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, etc., or professional industry experience)
