About the role

Traversal is hiring a Product Manager to build the product on top of AI agents and core AI capabilities, shaping how agents behave, communicate, and integrate across web app and headless surfaces (Slack, Teams, MCP, API). The role involves partnering with customers, engineers, and researchers to define strategy, owning enterprise-ready features, and driving rapid iteration from prototype to shipped features in a fast-growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with customers, engineers, and AI researchers to define product strategy and roadmap, leading discovery with SREs, platform engineers, and incident responders at some of the world's largest enterprises
  • Build the product layer on top of the core AI agents our research and engineering teams build, thinking holistically across the web app and headless surfaces (Slack, Microsoft Teams, MCP, and API)
  • Sweat the details of the agent's prompts: iterate on multiple versions of prompts and harnesses, run evals to see which output is better, and tell a good output from a great one
  • Own the features that make the product enterprise-ready, like fine-grained access control and RBAC
  • Prototype ideas yourself, and bring a prototype, not just a PRD, to product reviews
  • Sequence rollouts: find the MVP, ship on minimal surface (headless, Slack, or UI), test with beta users, then expand
  • Work with forward-deployed engineers during customer POVs to turn gaps into shipped features, fast
  • Bring in ideas from across the agent ecosystem and anticipate where agents are going next
  • Shape the product function: roadmap, process, and how product works with a fast-growing engineering team

Qualifications

  • ~5+ years of combined work experience across product management, engineering, or similar role, including at least 2 years as a PM
  • You live on the frontier of agents: deep power user of AI agents with strong opinions on what makes them great; intuition for LLMs and agents work and when to add structure vs. freedom; experience with personal and multi-agent experiences
  • Strong taste in UI design and headless experiences, and judgment about when to use each
  • An excellent writer: concise, clear docs; agent prompts that elicit desired behavior; clear customer communications
  • High agency: capable of building and shipping with or without a playbook, bringing prototypes to reviews, shipping and iterating quickly
  • Exceptional with customers: credible with senior engineers at large enterprises

Benefits

  • competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance, and additional benefits
  • U.S. base salary range for this role in New York: $200,000–$300,000, plus equity and benefits
