About the role

Individual Contributor (IC) product leader responsible for a broad platform surface for Atlas Infinite at MongoDB, owning end-to-end problems around user experience and database experience including feature discovery, activation, monetization, and retention for Atlas Infinite.

Responsibilities

  • Interlinked Vision & Multi-Year Bets: Set and champion a product vision across Atlas Infinite's capabilities, discovering opportunities beyond today's roadmap; evaluate decoupled compute/storage implications, prototypes, and market signals; determine investments and build-vs-buy considerations.
  • Cross-Team Execution: Manage execution health across workstreams with engineering leaders and peer PMs; ensure preview-to-GA readiness and aligned roadmaps across database, storage, Atlas platform, migration, backup, security, and cloud infra teams.
  • Execution & Research Standards: Establish lightweight operating practices and shared customer/market research frameworks; drive workload qualification, testing, win/loss analysis, launch readiness, and post-launch learning; use data to inform decisions.
  • Product Health: Resolve post-launch escalations affecting architecture, performance, migration, observability, or ownership; translate signals into systemic fixes.
  • Customer Discovery: Identify needs and competitive dynamics across product areas; conduct interviews, workload and pricing evidence, analytics, field feedback, and experiments to test hypotheses and uncover unknowns.
  • Outbound & GTM: Collaborate with Product Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, Documentation, and Support; define ICP and ensure accurate migration guidance; translate adoption approaches into playbooks.
  • Executive Alignment: Synthesize customer experience, technical readiness, adoption, and commercial impact into clear product stories for senior leadership; surface cross-area risks and trade-offs.
  • Mentorship: Mentor PMs, sharing frameworks for cross-team alignment, customer evidence, technical trade-offs, multi-year bets, and leadership communication.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management or equivalent leadership experience shaping strategy for complex technical platforms across multiple teams.
  • Strong technical fluency in cloud databases, distributed data systems, storage infrastructure, developer experiences, or adjacent developer platform; ability to reason about architecture, performance, availability, data movement, and trade-offs with engineers.
  • Proven ability to discover opportunities beyond current roadmap; formulate and test hypotheses; adapt based on evidence.
  • Experience taking a complex product from early adoption to broader use while reserving space for longer-term innovation; explicit trade-offs among trust, readiness, speed, and investment.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority across partner teams; negotiate sequencing and resource trade-offs.
  • Commercial and analytical judgment: assess workload value, adoption data, competitive options, pricing, unit economics; comfortable with build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Ability to improve customer discovery and decision-making through shared methods and mentorship.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey technical/commercial theses and uncertainties to engineers, customers, executives, and GTM partners.
