Senior Product Designer, Platform
About the role
Senior Product Designer for Coinbase's Infra pillar, focusing on design of internal tools, dashboards, and development tooling used by engineers and cross-functional teams. Independently defines problem spaces, conducts research, and leads end-to-end design from discovery to launch for data-intensive, engineer-facing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy across Coinbase’s infrastructure tools.
- Design high-quality UI and interaction patterns for data-intensive, workflow-heavy enterprise tools (e.g., visual workflow builders, configuration management systems, real-time dashboards).
- Own end-to-end design for the development release-pipeline, providing engineers visibility into progress toward production.
- Design the Engineering Standards Scorecard, translating 100+ standards into a clear view for ICs, directors, and VPs.
- Run iterative design cycles: ideate, prototype, test with internal users, and refine based on qualitative feedback and operational data.
- Partner with Engineering leadership and standards owners to define a shared service-catalog data model and ingestion approach.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional product design experience, including owning end-to-end flows from discovery through launch.
- Track record designing enterprise solutions for complex workflows, usable by technical and non-technical users.
- Excellence in UX thinking, systems design, and ability to influence product strategy and roadmap in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
- Sharp attention to detail and mastery of visual design, interaction design, and prototyping.
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience designing for technical, engineer-facing, or data-heavy systems (internal tools, dev platforms, governance tooling).
- Thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools, including AI-assisted exploration and prototyping.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
