About the role

Technical Writer to create quality technical documentation from blank-page, with prior military technician experience and background in developing Technical Manuals for government and civilian industries.

Responsibilities

  • Work with subject matter experts to develop various forms of documentation such as user manuals, test plans, and foundational documents
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to operate with little supervision and quickly adapt to new priorities as needed
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one (clearance sponsored for right candidate)
  • Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) in Aviation, Electronics, Satellite Communication, or Computer Networking; substitution: four or more years of technical writing experience in lieu of college degree
  • MS Office 365 Suite, Adobe, and SharePoint
