About the role

Internship in Meta Reality Labs Research, Surreal Vision group, focusing on novel computational imaging systems and robotics with a 12–24 week duration and multiple start dates.

Responsibilities

  • Create novel systems and components for computational imaging that are efficient and achieve high performance through optics, sensors, algorithms and machine learning, targeted at contextual AI and robotics sensing applications.
  • Explore novel and emerging sensing modalities for contextual AI and robotics, and push sensing ability in hard imaging regimes.
  • Rapidly design, develop, prototype, execute and analyze advanced imaging and perception systems under real-world constraints of latency, power, and form factor.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across optics, material, and robotics in a highly cross-functional and interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Computational Imaging, Robotics, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Demonstrated research experience in Computational Imaging, Computer Vision, Computational Imaging, Robotics, or Machine Learning
  • Experience working within Python environments such as PyTorch, and experience working in a Unix environment
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
