About the role

Meta is seeking a Content Policy Associate Manager to shape actor behavior and platform integrity, defining policies, frameworks and guardrails for accounts, pages, groups and new products. Collaborates cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Operations, Communications and Public Policy; responsibilities include policy counseling for launches, governance frameworks for AI-driven moderation, escalation coverage, election readiness and crisis response with autonomy on fast-moving issues.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to assess policy risks in new launches, tests, and product changes — defining safeguards, flagging tradeoffs, and clarifying escalation paths before features reach users
  • Own policy counseling for actor-level enforcement, assessing proposals for impacts on free expression, safety, and enforcement precision — ensuring risks are surfaced early with clear guidance for operations and integrity teams
  • Shape governance and policy frameworks for AI-driven content moderation — including automated enforcement decisions and post-deployment monitoring to ensure defensibility and accuracy at scale
  • Build consensus with cross-functional partners including other Product Policy and Public Policy teams, Central Product, Operations, and Legal — translating product developments into concrete policy risk analysis
  • Support regulatory and communications inquiries and represent Policy in cross-functional meetings
  • Contribute to election readiness and crisis response efforts, coordinating with other integrity and legal teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, law, political science, communications, or related discipline)
  • 4+ years of experience in content policy, trust and safety, platform integrity, operations, legal, government, nonprofit, or related field
  • Experience working autonomously and cross-functionally to develop policies and apply analytical thinking to ambiguous, complex problems
  • Judgment to operate independently on sensitive topics and escalate when appropriate, including across time zones
  • Experience communicating complex policy positions clearly and succinctly in writing to executive audiences
  • Ability to work with potentially sensitive or objectionable topics
  • Experience presenting policy positions verbally to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
