About the role

Product designer role within Meta's WhatsApp Services team in Bangalore, focused on making WhatsApp more useful for everyday activities and enabling new features. Involves end-to-end product design, from ideation to launch, collaboration with cross-functional partners, and contributing to strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and delivers design projects of large and/or ambiguous scope
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for users
  • Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces
  • Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems
  • Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of enterprise products
  • Give and solicit feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to improve design quality standards through structured feedback and iteration, while also taking on mentorship
  • Lead a partnership with product managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists to define the user experience of a product from conception until launch

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 6+ years designing software products with a focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design that meet business objectives
  • Utilizes research and data to inform product strategy
  • Demonstrates strategic product thinking and experience communicating design rationale and product strategy to cross-functional partners including product managers, engineers, and leadership
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools and building low-fidelity mock ups
