About the role
Security Foundations is Meta's first-line-of-defense technology organization. This role leads scope, design, and champion security solutions across multiple domains, influencing technical direction rather than owning a single domain. The position focuses on identifying high-risk items, developing threat models, and delivering broadly adopted security platforms and controls company-wide.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms shared across the company, working with Security Engineering, Security Analyst, and Software Engineering teams.
- Determine the highest-risk items across domains company-wide, then lead development of detailed threat models and solutions.
- Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited across Meta's infrastructure.
- Navigate tradeoffs between security and friction or cost to keep the company moving securely.
- Drive solution design, including technical architecture, and lead implementation as needed.
- Build partnerships across security, infrastructure, corporate engineering, and legal to translate business/regulatory requirements into articulated tradeoffs.
- Represent tradeoffs credibly to senior leadership (VPs and C-level executives) to drive decisions.
Qualifications
- B.S. Computer Science or related field
- Deep technical expertise in at least one domain and ability to become credible quickly in unfamiliar ones
- Significant experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives
- Experience managing security risk and balancing security with friction in a large organization
- Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions
- Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments and balance technical design with business processes
- Hands-on engineering experience and ability to lead across Security Engineering and Software Engineering organizations
