About the role

Meta seeks a Content Policy Manager to shape actor, behavior and platform integrity policies, frameworks, and guardrails across accounts, pages, groups, and new products. The role involves policy counseling, governance for AI-driven content moderation, cross-functional collaboration, escalation coverage, election readiness, and crisis response, with occasional irregular hours.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to assess policy risks in new launches, tests, and product changes — defining safeguards, flagging tradeoffs, and clarifying escalation paths before features reach users
  • Own policy counseling for actor-level enforcement, assessing proposals for impacts on free expression, safety, and enforcement precision — ensuring risks are surfaced early with clear guidance for operations and integrity teams
  • Shape governance and policy frameworks for AI-driven content moderation to ensure defensibility and accuracy at scale
  • Establish and refine processes for cross-functional approvals and leadership review — preparing clear recommendations, quantifying impact, and accelerating alignment on high-stakes decisions
  • Support escalation coverage and on-call rotation, making rapid, defensible policy decisions under time pressure
  • Contribute to election readiness and crisis response efforts, coordinating with integrity and legal teams as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, law, political science, communications, or a related discipline)
  • 8+ years of experience in content policy, trust and safety, platform integrity, or a related field
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams to deliver impact without direct authority
  • Track record of making high-judgment decisions, with the judgment to know when to escalate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with potentially sensitive or objectionable topics
