About the role

Policy Manager for Africa, the Middle East and Turkey (AMET) within Meta's Public Policy team. Responsible for rapid regulatory analysis, drafting submissions, coordinating cross-functional positions, and enabling advocacy across AMET for regulatory consultations and policy issues.

Responsibilities

  • Rapid analysis and triaging: act as the first line of response for AMET Public Policy regulatory consultations, conduct rapid reviews, identify key provisions and potential impact, triage submissions into internal systems, and coordinate preparedness workflows
  • Submission drafting: gather inputs from subject-matter-expert central policy teams and regional stakeholders, draft regulatory consultation submissions, and support finalizing responses through the approval process
  • Regulatory domain ownership: serve as the regulatory domain point of contact for Integrity (Fraud & Scams), Youth, Privacy, AI, Security, and Non-Financial Corporate Obligations within the Policy Strategy and Regulations team
  • Position coordination: own AMET-wide position coordination with the Integrity Regulations Team and Content Policy
  • Regulatory mapping and trends: map regulatory pressures, analyze trends, surface policy positions, and compile policy positions and playbooks for AMET; maintain internal policy and regulatory tracking resources
  • Internal coordination: coordinate internal support for regulatory processes with Central Policy, Regulatory Readiness and Legal
  • Advocacy enablement: provide talking points, briefs, and toolkits to regional Public Policy to support regulatory engagements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Technology, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, law, technology, or similar field
  • Experience analysing legislation, regulation or regulatory consultations and translating them into business and product impact
  • Experience drafting regulatory submissions, consultation responses or formal written advocacy materials
  • Experience in policy coordination across teams in a matrix organisation, and building consensus across cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience briefing and advising leaders on technical and regulatory matters
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams under tight timelines and shifting priorities, and acting proactively when facing competing demands and evolving requirements
