Senior Backend Engineer
About the role
Senior Backend Engineer role at Homebase, a YC-backed real estate fintech in Vietnam. Focus on designing, developing, and scaling backend systems, APIs, and integrations to support recruiting software solutions and broader product capabilities. Hybrid/remote-friendly with presence in Ho Chi Minh City.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design cohesive code.
- Develop and maintain APIs for high performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
- Lead integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic for optimal performance.
- Implement security and data protection measures, managing storage and handling of sensitive user data.
- Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle (ideation, development, testing, deployment, maintenance).
- Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and frameworks to optimize development processes and enhance product capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience with NestJS (NestJS Microservices), TypeScript, ExpressJS, TypeORM.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, MongoDB; RedisQueue.
- CMS experience with Strapi.
- Strong understanding of web development cycle, data modeling, SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with design patterns, microservices, and development principles.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and ability to work independently; English proficiency is a plus.
