About the role

Software Engineer role in Modern Treasury's Payments Core to lead growth and adoption of global and domestic payment rails, build scalable payment integration solutions, and expand support for local rails across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of cutting-edge payment integration solutions.
  • Expand into new markets and add support for local payment rails in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
  • Ensure the payments platform is highly scalable, adaptable, and reliable.
  • Collaborate with product teams to scope and ship products for enterprise users.
  • Mentor new engineers, write internal tooling and documentation, and participate in interviewing new hires.
  • Lead a project that improves performance and payment workflows across multiple payment rails.
  • Shadow customer and partner meetings to understand needs and feedback.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience collaborating with product teams to design features and customer-centric workflows
  • Experience with U.S. domestic and/or global payment rails (ACH, Wires, Swift, RTP) and payments standards (ISO20022, NACHA, BAI)
  • Experience working with SQL/Relational databases; batched payments experience is a plus
  • Experience mentoring and growing engineering, and contributing to technical direction
  • Creative problem-solving skills and willingness to learn nuances of domestic and international payment systems
