About the role
Senior/Staff Backend Engineer at Complete, a YC-backed company building compensation optimization software. Role focuses on ownership, autonomy, and scale of backend systems in a fast-growing startup environment. In-person SF office with 4-5 days/week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Own and grow entire lines of business end-to-end
- Participate in scaling the platform to new countries and large user bases
- Revamp and improve backend systems (authorization, observability, security, customization)
- Collaborate with a small, experienced team to ship high-impact features
- Develop and maintain Python (Django) backend services and GraphQL APIs
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in backend engineering
- Experience with Python and Django
- Experience with GraphQL APIs
- US citizen/visa only
