About the role

Medplum is open source API-first EHR. The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a founding member of the team focused on helping customers derive value from the Medplum platform, shaping team culture, and driving revenue through enterprise implementations and integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Reduce Time to Value for Medplum Implementations: conduct enterprise workshops and trainings, troubleshoot customer implementations, provide technical guidance and create documentation to help customers unlock value.
  • Serve as a Strategic Thought Partner: build relationships with customer executives and guide their EHR strategy, operations, and execution.
  • Grow Existing Customer Value: identify opportunities within existing accounts and expand use cases through education of the art of the possible.
  • Develop Enterprise Features and Integrations: write code for core healthcare workflows (e-prescribe, labs, health networks, billing, benefits check, etc.).
  • Provide Feedback to Product and Engineering: capture customer issues and prioritize features for the roadmap.
  • Set the Tone for the Solutions Engineering Team: establish tools and benchmarks for team success as a founding member.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (sales, customer success, or technical consulting)
  • Full stack TypeScript experience
  • Ability to work autonomously with customers and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Relationship-building skills with technical and business leaders at customer organizations
  • Based in the SF Bay Area with readiness for twice-weekly in-person collaboration
  • US citizen or visa holder per requirement
  • Bonus: experience deploying developer products and/or health tech industry experience
